Jesus is the Father’s house, the new temple, the Word dwelling among us. By his death and resurrection we are already in the Father’s house, that is with God. Although I do not reject the traditional interpretation of this verse as referring to “going to be with Jesus in heaven,” if the Father’s “house” generally means being with God through Christ, then it is worthy asking and stating how we are already in the Father’s house (John 14:2-5).
