We will recognize one another in heaven

Gerhard (On heaven, § 147) lists many reasons why we must recognize one another in heaven. All of his answers are good, but the most interesting is his claim from Luther, that as Adam immediately recognized Eve, so we will have such immediate knowing restored to us in the resurrection. Also, all the dead who ever appeared (those raised, Moses and Elijah at the transfiguration) have been recognized.

This teaching is also necessitated by the doctrine of the degrees of glory in eternal life, for without the distinction of recognition there cannot be a distinction of degrees of glory. For example, how could the apostles' distinction on their thrones be true if people are not going to be recognizable? So then, not only will we recognize those people who knew on earth, but we will know all the members of the body of Christ.

Question: Who are the deniers of this doctrine and what is their history?
