The souls of the saints rest in God’s hand

The souls of the saints live and rest in the hand of God. Gerhard masterfully notes Scriptures’s way of speaking this way:

Deut. 33:3: “All the saints are in His hand.” John 10:29: “No man will take the sheep from the hand of My Father.” It is in this sense that the souls of the righteous are said to be “in the hand of God,” namely, in that hand about which Ps. 16:11 says: “In Your right hand are pleasures forevermore”; and about which we read (Ps. 31:6; Luke 23:46): “Into Your hands I commend My spirit.”
